The Professional DIVEMASTER course is a class during which qualified Rescue Divers learn the knowledge and skills necessary to make the transition from a recreational diver to the first professional membership level. Instructor level academic knowledge will be developed and tested. Optional apprenticeship program available to develop learned leadership. (If adding the internship, note that any dive excursions beyond the one boat and 2 beach included with your DiveMaster base course will require you to purchase any boat tickets and/or provide for the gear and tanks needed.)
Confined Water Training includes perfecting all standard open water skills which are improved to demonstration quality, rescue skills, equipment exchange (problem solving) and watermanship and stamina are evaluated.
Conduct typically includes: deep, wreck, drift, reef, navigation, underwater mapping, and dive leader exercises which will develop the candidates’ skills in dive planning, leadership and proper response to common underwater problems.
Functioning as an instructional assistant is also covered in the pool and the ocean. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is certified as a Professional DIVEMASTER and qualifies for attendance to the Assistant Instructor Development Course (AIDC) – leading to eventual certification as a Open Water Scuba Instructor.
