Upcoming Discover SCUBA – Pool Session

Join us for an unforgettable introduction to the underwater world through our Discover SCUBA Experience (DSE), a pool-based session designed to safely and confidently introduce you to breathing underwater for the first time. Whether you’re beginning your scuba journey or supporting someone else’s, this session is built to be welcoming, accessible, and empowering for all.

Experience the sensation of weightlessness as you take your first breaths underwater—often described as feeling like an astronaut in outer space. Participants will complete a guided Discover SCUBA session and experience what we call the “Empowering Spirit of Freedom” dive. All dives are conducted with the support of trained Adaptive SCUBA volunteers and HSA Buddy Divers, ensuring a safe, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

This session serves multiple pathways of participation. Students enrolled in courses such as Discover SCUBA Experience (DSE), Discover SCUBA Diving (DSD), SCUBA Diver (Supervised Diver) Certification (SDC), or Basic Open Water (BOW) Certification will complete their required pool training during this session. Veterans, individuals with disabilities, and special needs participants are invited to attend free of charge through our sponsored adaptive program. No prior experience is required to participate, and all instruction is provided on-site. This pool session must be completed confidently before participating in any ocean-based experience with us. Our team is committed to ensuring every participant feels safe, supported, and capable throughout the experience.
